7Weather – Our weekend will end better than it started! That’s good timing for your outdoor Father’s Day plans today. A few showers pop up today with near-normal temperatures. Looking ahead, there are afternoon thunderstorms the next couple of days then temperatures head to near 90°.The upper level low that brought downpours and touched off some thunderstorms yesterday continues to move farther away. On the backside of it, we’ll continue to get a few showers rotating in this morning with some pop up showers this afternoon. A northwest wind will help to dry out the air column allowing more breaks of sun to develop the farther west you go. Highs today will be in the low 70s inland. Less wind this afternoon will allow sea breezes to develop along the coast. The onshore breeze along with clouds will keep temperatures there in the 60s.Fewer clouds overnight with a calm wind. Damaged portion of I-95 in Philadelphia will be reopened within two weeks, governor says

(CNN) — The damaged section of Interstate 95 that collapsed in Philadelphia will be reopened within the next two weeks, Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro said Saturday.The interstate crumbled June 11 after a tanker truck carrying 8,500 gallons of gasoline crashed and exploded in flames under the highway, officials said. Rob Schwartz stumbled upon the forgotten manuscripts of his late father, Morrie Schwartz. Now, he wants to honor his father’s legacy by publishing his words.Morrie was the subject of the best-selling book “Tuesdays with Morrie.” The book was written by one of Morrie’s students at Brandeis University, who visited Morrie during his final days battling ALS.His son is remembering his father by posthumously publishing his book “The Wisdom of Morrie: Living and Aging Creatively and Joyfully.”“When I rediscovered the manuscript in the early 2000s I thought it really had a lot of very valuable insights,” Rob said.Morrie wrote the book from 1988 to 1992 before he was diagnosed with ALS, but the disease prevented him from ever pursuing publishing.“It’s very prescient, I mean he discusses stuff in the book that we’re just starting to discuss now — ageism, how pernicious ageism is, how elderly people have a great role to play in our society,” Rob said.Rob said the ...

BERLIN (AP) — A majority of Swiss citizens on Sunday voted in favor of a bill aimed at introducing new climate measures to sharply curb the rich Alpine nation’s greenhouse gas emissions, first projections indicated.Projections by the GFS Bern Institute based on early vote counting and released by public broadcaster SRF showed that 58% of voters were in favor of the bill. The margin of error was 3%, SRF reported. UNINCOORPORATED WILLOWBROOK, Ill. -- DuPage County responded to a shooting in Unincorporated Willowbrook which sent 20 people to the hospital and left one person dead, police said. According to the Battalion Chief with the tri-state Fire protection district, at around 12:30 a.m. there was a shooting reported near Route 83 and Honeysuckle Rose Lane.The DuPage County Sherrif confirmed that 20 people were injured with gunshot wounds. Fire officials said two victims are in critical condition. Fire also said officers applied a handful of tourniquets at the scene to the people who were wounded. Multiple shot near Lincoln Park Zoo: Chicago Police Witnesses described the scene as chaotic with people running as gunfire erupted. A motive behind the shooting is still unclear.WGN is actively investigating the incident and will update as new information is released.
