PARKER, Colo. (KDVR) — Four books with LGBTQ+ themes were at the center of controversy Wednesday night when Douglas County considered banning them in public libraries.The books included "The Hips on the Drag Queen Go Swish, Swish, Swish," "All Boys Aren't Blue," "This Book is Gay" and "Jack of Hearts." DENVER (KDVR) -- Coloradans have good credit, but they pay for it. Economic and social disruptions aside, there were some benefits U.S. households reaped from the COVID-19 pandemic. Stimulus checks and other financial relief racked up in 2020 and 2021, increasing the level of household savings and debt repayment. A new study of financial data by Upgraded Points shows that delinquencies on loans decreased during the pandemic. Only in one state — North Dakota — did credit scores not increase between 2019 and 2022. In Colorado, the average credit score rose from 718 in 2019 to 730 in 2022, the nation's 14th-highest credit score. How common is your name in Colorado? Speedy implementation of a combination of measures such as face masks, lockdowns and international border controls, “unequivocally” reduced COVID-19 infections, a major review has shown.The report published Thursday by the Royal Society looked at findings from six evidence reviews that analyzed thousands of studies to assess the effect of masks, social distancing and lockdowns, test trace and isolate systems, border controls, environmental controls and communications. It found evidence that each of these measures — which are called “non-pharmaceutical interventions” — were effective, albeit to varying degrees, when looked at individually. However, the evidence in favor of using these tools was stronger when countries combined several measures.
